Nikkia Blair is the Supervisor for School Counseling Services in the Long Branch Public School District, where she has served as a dedicated school social worker since 2022. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Stockton University and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from New York University.

With over 20 years of experience in the counseling and education fields, Nikkia is passionate about fostering emotional intelligence, resilience, and well-being among students and staff. Her leadership focuses on creating comprehensive school counseling programs that prioritize social-emotional learning (SEL), mental health awareness, and trauma-informed practices. In addition to her clinical and administrative expertise, she is a certified 200-hour yoga teacher and a Master-level Reiki practitioner, blending mindfulness, movement, and energy healing to promote overall well-being. Nikkia’s leadership and compassionate guidance continue to inspire balance, resilience, and growth within the school community.

In her role, Nikkia collaborates closely with counselors, teachers, administrators, and families to ensure that every student has access to the emotional and academic supports they need to thrive. She is deeply committed to cultivating safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environments where students can build confidence, develop healthy coping skills, and reach their full potential

Mental health encompasses our emotional, psychological, and social well-being, affecting how we think, feel, and act. A public-school system serves all ages and developmental levels. Therefore, the perfect environment to holistically and organically foster and implement services for social, emotional and mental health well-being. This workshop will highlight key strategies to improve and support mental health in public schools, organized by prevention, intervention, and systematic approaches. Participants will explore practical examples of how these strategies can be integrated into daily school routines, staff collaboration, and student support systems. Attendees will leave with actionable insights to enhance the overall climate and culture of their educational settings.
